DESCRIPTION:Join us for an afternoon of jazz and poetry! The centerpiece of this event is 5 poems from Gerry Sloan’s 1999 chapbook\, Common Time\, with music composed and performed by Al Gibson and Claudia Burson.\n\nThe event will also include original works by living poets and tributes to predecessors like Miller Williams\, Frank Stanford\, C. D. Wright and Maya Angelou. Each poet will choose a spontaneous accompaniment by either plucked bass or guitar.
