SUMMARY:Old Crow Medicine Show
DESCRIPTION:For the first time\, Old Crow Medicine Show is touring with a holiday show and making a stop at Walton Arts Center Wednesday\, Dec. 3 at 7 pm. 20 local students grades 6-12 from the University of Arkansas Children’s Choir will perform with the Grammy®-winning group for part of their set. \nJoin the band for a festive night of foot-stompin’ Christmas classics\, fan-favorite Old Crow hits\, and songs from their brand-new holiday album. The band will be joined by special guest Bronwyn Keith-Hynes\, adding fiddle fire and holiday cheer to this one-of-a-kind celebration. \nOld Crow Medicine Show got their start busking on street corners in 1998\, from New York state and up through Canada\, winning audiences along the way with their boundless energy and spirit. They eventually found themselves in Boone\, North Carolina where they caught the attention of folk icon Doc Watson while playing in front of a pharmacy. He invited the band to play at his festival\, MerleFest\, and the rest is history. \nIt’s been over 20 years since these humble beginnings. The band has gone on to receive the honor of being inducted as members of the Grand Ole Opry and have won two Grammy Awards: best folk album for Remedy (2014) and best long form music video for “Big Easy Express” (2013). Additionally\, their classic single\, “Wagon Wheel”\, received the RIAA’s Double-Platinum® certification in 2019 for selling over 2\,000\,000 copies while the band’s debut album O.C.M.S. has been certified Gold® (500\,000 copies). The band’s latest Grammy nominated album Jubilee (Aug 2023) released via ATO Records. \nThe group is comprised of Ketch Secor (fiddle\, harmonica\, guitar\, banjo\, vocals)\, Morgan Jahnig (upright bass)\, Cory Younts (mandolin\, keyboards\, banjo\, harmonica\, vocals)\, Mike Harris (slide guitar\, guitar\, mandolin\, banjo\, dobro\, guitjo\, vocals)\, Chance McCoy (vocals\, guitar\, fiddle\, banjo\, mandolin\, dobro)\, PJ George (banjo\, accordion\, mandolin\, fiddle\, guitar\, guitjo\, drums).
