About
Origins & Early Days
The Grove Comedy Club was founded in 2016 by Bill Adams.
Initially, it operated as a small 80-seat comedy venue located in a strip-mall (in Rogers). On weekends (Fridays/Saturdays) it turned into a comedy club; during weekdays it functioned as a restaurant.
Move to Lowell & Expansion
After about 18 months in the small venue, in spring 2018 The Grove moved into a larger standalone facility in Lowell, Arkansas — at 808 S. Bloomington St. (Highway 71B). The new space is roughly 9,000 square feet, and the investment for renovation was nearly US$1.2 million.
The capacity increased significantly: the facility is large enough for a total of about 380 people; for comedy shows the club seats roughly 140–160 for a more intimate experience.
What The Grove Became: A Full Entertainment Complex
The venue evolved beyond “just a comedy club.” It became part of a larger entertainment complex: a comedy club + restaurant/bar + (later) additional amenities.
The venue’s design and staffing reflect that shift: as of 2021, their general manager said they had a staff of about 20 cooks/servers, and the club books well-known comedians often featured on big platforms (TV, Comedy Central, etc.) — while still supporting regional talent.
Notable Shows & Reputation
The Grove attracts high-profile comedy acts: former TV/SNL stars, national touring comedians, and widely recognized names.
The club markets itself not as a small bar act, but as a “destination” — with the feel of a professional comedy club that just happens to be in a smaller, less-urban region.
Reviewers, visitors, and regional media describe it as “a small-town venue delivering big-time talent,” reflecting how the club turned what might be a sleepy part of Northwest Arkansas into a lively comedy-and-nightlife spot.
