A Christmas Carol

Once upon a time, seven years ago, Northwest Arkansas Audio Theater decided to present the classic, beloved Charles Dickens tale “A Christmas Carol” as our first Christmas treat. This year, 2023, we are bringing it back to celebrate its special appeal with audiences new and old alike.

This version is written for “radio-on-stage” by Anthony E. Palermo, an author, producer, and educator who has done much over the years to revive and promote the special theatrical art of what we call “audio theater”: presenting shows which rely on a minimum of staging and a maximum of imagination to bring the stories to life.

Charles Dickens’ original story has entertained and enchanted millions of people around the world since it was published in 1843 – 180 years and counting! Somehow, the idea that a person may be redeemed from a life of inner misery and indifference to the miseries of others, even if it takes intervention from beyond the ordinary, appeals to almost everyone.
