Borderless Sound – Latin American Composers & the World Stage

September 22 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Free

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Lia Uribe will host a vibrant, music-rich conversation in Fayetteville Public Library's Walker Community Room. Lia is a bassoonist, educator, and host of Sound Perimeter on KUAF 91.3.

Designed for all audiences (no musical background needed) this event will be a conversation in the spirit of Sound Perimeter, expanding our musical boundaries and deepening our connection to Latin-American sounds as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. The program will highlight the impact of Latin American composers on the world stage, from Astor Piazzolla, whose genre-defying tango opened doors for global recognition, to the innovative voices of Miguel del Águila, Gabriela Ortiz, and Angélica Negrón, among others.

All abilities are welcome. For disability accommodations, call 479.856.7250 or email questions@faylib.org 2-3 weekdays before a program.
