Jonathan Virginia Green is a visual artist and explorer in the further regions of experience. He graduated with a BFA in 2011 from the University of Tulsa and is currently working to complete his MFA at the University of Arkansas where he was awarded a graduate fellowship. He uses his art to explore mechanisms of desire, pleasure, and transformation that are oriented within his experience as a queer transgender male. His practice includes painting, drawing, and video. The work heavily references leather (BDSM, kink, fetish, etc.) as he is interested in the overlapping concerns between painting and leather. As practices they are driven by aesthetics, invested in material, and can be physically and/or psychologically transformative.
