Event Details

One of the wonderful and magical things food can do is root something in place and create a home.

Whether she knew what she was doing or not, Stacey began an epic adventure in place-making when she started making pies in her New York apartment during the pandemic. She’d been laid off due to pandemic cuts, and feeling disconnected and without purpose, so she set about pursuing her citizenship in her adopted country.

As she dove into learning to perfect pie-making, she soon realized that she might feel more connected to her new home if she knew more about it and the people from the places she knew little of. So, she set out to bake a pie that was representative of every state in the US and give it to someone from that state. The result: a beautiful collection of stories, pies, and friends (old and new). And lots and lots of pies.

Join us to hear about Stacey’s life growing up in Singapore and Hong Kong, her love of American culture, and why pie was the ultimate place-making tool for her in finding and creating “home.”

You’ll also have the opportunity to buy her book and have it signed, plus enjoy some pie and coffee!

See you there.
