Claire Rousay | Field Recording Workshop

Sound is all around us, but how we perceive and interpret it is deeply personal. In this hands-on workshop, part of a series by artist-in-residence claire rousay and presented in partnership with Trillium Salon Series, we’ll explore the intimate relationship between field recording and listening, highlighting the way each individual experiences sound differently.

Through field recording, we can not only capture the world around us, but also express our unique perspectives, emotions, and stories. By embracing the subjectivity of both recording and listening, we unlock new creative possibilities and deepen our ability to communicate through sound.

This intermediate/advanced workshop is ideal for sound artists, musicians, documentarians, filmmakers, and anyone interested in exploring the intersection of sound, perception, and personal expression through field recording.

The workshop series will conclude with a public group performance on December 6. Workshops will take place on December 4 and 5, so if one date doesn’t work for you, try another!
