Gómez moved with his family from Puerto Rico at a young age to New York, where he was raised. He started on double bass in the New York City school system at the age of eleven and at age thirteen went to the New York City High School of Music & Art.
Gómez ‘s storied career has included stints with Gerry Mulligan, Marian McPartland, Paul Bley, Tania Maria, Steps Ahead, and Chick Corea. He spent a total of eleven years with the Bill Evans Trio, which included performances in the United States, Europe and Asia, as well as dozens of recordings. In May 2013, Gómez was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Music from Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain.
A native of Sweden, Stefan Karlsson stays active as guest performer and Artist-in-Residence at concert venues, festivals, clubs, and universities worldwide. His discography includes 78 recordings, nine under his own leadership and six recordings with the Eddie Gomez Trio with whom he’s performed since 1996. Karlsson has also shared the stage and recorded with jazz greats as Steve Gadd, Herb Ellis, Chris Potter, and many others.
Steven Pruitt was born to play the drums. After beating on everything in sight, his Dad bought him his first drum-set. In 2000, Steve emerged as a finalist in the Guitar Center Drum Off. He attended the University of North Texas and studied under the tutelage of Ed Soph. Here, he began to play heavily in the Dallas/Fort Worth scene, and hit the road playing everything from Jazz, Rock, Hip-hop, Fusion, R&B, and Big Band. Pruitt’s musical endeavors have led him to share the stage and studio with some of the finest artists in the world including: Cornell Dupree, Snarky Puppy, Jeff Lorber, Jimmy Haslip, Yotam Silberstein and many others.
