Join Us for the 5th Annual Marshallese Women’s Conference 2025!
Our theme this year is: Kora Em Ajre! Weaving the Power of Well-Being, Women of the Past, Present and Future, taking place on March 19-20th, 2025 at the Jones Center in Springdale.
Ajre is the final thunderclap that gives the powerful sound marking the end of a storm. It symbolizes the intensity of tranquility that brings silence to all external disruption. In the context of Kora Em Ajre, it represents the crucial role of Marshallese women in society, particularly as arbitrators, catalysts and well-being champions. These women are the weavers/crafters of well-being, carrying forward indigenous practices with modern approaches to bridge the past, enrich the present, and shape the future of well-being.
This event aims to reduce health disparity by addressing Social Determinant Of Health via connecting Marshallese women to services and resources through plenary sessions, dialogues, and presentations.
This is more than just a gathering—it’s a powerful opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate together! Get ready for an inspiring 2-day event! Come expand your knowledge, strengthen your voice, and celebrate the power of Marshallese women! Bring your sisters, mothers, daughters, and friends—let’s grow and uplift each other!
Please check out the flyer! For more information please call (479)365.6625 or email fressana@arkansasmarshallese.org or jenitha@arkansasmarshallese.org

After time at the Fayetteville Public Library, “The Hearts Project: A COVID-19 Memorial” is on the move again; this time it will be exhibited at Life Styles Blair Center in Springdale, Arkansas. Joined in concert with the individuals and adults with disabilities served by the center, the 3-piece collection will be integrated within a show highlighting artistic works made in response to prompts about life during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This exhibit adds a new dimension by incorporating new voices rarely heard: those of individuals and adults with disabilities who were shut in during the pandemic. Led by art educators at Life Styles, Joanna Reid, Joelle Storet, and Rosalind Waiwaiole the words and works awaken a variety of experiences integral to composing a comprehensive story about the pandemic. During the four-month stay at Life Styles, Moore will work with the clients and art educators to create a panel that will become part of a future frame devoted to the “shut-in” experience. Reception to open this exhibit will be Thursday, February 20 from 6pm – 8pm at the Blair Center in Springdale. Join us for an evening featuring expressive works of art as a new dimension of The Hearts Project.

Want to practice those rusty observational drawing skills? There is nothing better than drawing life from real human form.
Got an awesome collection of art supplies you’ve been itching to use? What a perfect excuse!
This is a classical undraped session, with timed poses, with a shorter warm up gestures, slowly progressing to longer poses.
So, dust off your drawing boards, sharpen your pencils, and let your creative vibes flow like Picasso’s paintbrush.
Hosted by the former Adjunct and Visiting Assistant Professor at UALR, Sasha Mirzoyan.
We will have a few tables available with some table-top easels and drawing boards.
Those who are more serious about their practice, you are encouraged to bring your own portable easels.
Spots are limited, so reserve yours now and we’ll see you there!

April 30th, 6:30-8:00 pm
Location: The Medium, Springdale AR
Tickets: $20, All ages are welcome!
Mental State is a dance performance and informative experience created to give a voice to those who struggle with mental illness and educate the community on how they can stand with them.
The event will consist of dance performances from a variety of local artists that depict mental health struggles; as well as, brief info sessions on warning signs, symptoms, and treatment options for those struggles.
The goal of this event is for the audience to walk away with a better understanding and sense of empathy for what those with mental health issues experience. It’s crucial that we continue to increase education and awareness so that earlier intervention can take place, strangers and loved ones can be helpful and not hurtful, and we can keep anyone from feeling alone or helpless.
Join us for a night of mental health awareness, dance, and education! And as always, remember to protect, understand, and be patient with your mental state.
