These women are the weavers/crafters of well-being, carrying forward indigenous practices with modern approaches to bridge the past, enrich the present, and shape the future of well-being.

Led by art educators at Life Styles, Joanna Reid, Joelle Storet, and Rosalind Waiwaiole the words and works awaken a variety of experiences integral to composing a comprehensive story about the pandemic. During the four-month stay at Life Styles, Moore will work with the clients and art educators to create a panel that will become part of a future frame devoted to the “shut-in” experience. Circus for a Cause is a one night event and one month exhibition where artists, performers, creatives, and community members will gather in celebration of InTRANSitive – the only nonprofit that works to advance the cause of Trans liberation in Arkansas through art, education, advocacy, organizing and culture in order to create effective systemic change and on-the-ground impact.

Inspired by mutual aid and the concept of embodied craftivism, this event is made possible by local artists of all mediums joining together to display and donate their craft for the greater good.

This means that all work is donated — all proceeds go directly to InTRANSitive.

Featuring aerials, acrobats, object manipulators, and more – join us for this unforgettable evening of circus, for a cause.

Table Talks is a peer-to-peer conversation series featuring two creatives who will share their artistic journeys and insights around a chosen theme. The topic for April is Evolution: How has your artistic style or process changed over time? These events are free and hosted at The medium. All are welcome. Complimentary dinner is provided. Want to practice those rusty observational drawing skills? There is nothing better than drawing life from real human form.

Got an awesome collection of art supplies you’ve been itching to use?What a perfect excuse!

This is a classical undraped session, with timed poses, with a shorter warm up gestures, slowly progressing to longer poses.

So, dust off your drawing boards, sharpen your pencils, and let your creative vibes flow like Picasso’s paintbrush.

Hosted by the former Adjunct and Visiting Assistant Professor at UALR, Sasha Mirzoyan. 

We will have a few tables available with some table-top easels and drawing boards.

Those who are more serious about their practice, you are encouraged to bring your own portable easels.

Whimsical Tiny Houses

Join me for this wonderful whimsical workshop where we will learn to paint colorful tiny houses with acrylic paints on canvas. You will also learn about shading, highlights and how to add a POP of color for variety and keeping the eyes attention on your piece. You will leave this workshop with knowledge on how to explore colors, adding contrast, and most importantly, thinking outside the box. If you have always wanted to learn to paint, or step away from traditional approaches to painting, then this workshop is for you! BEGINNERS ARE WELCOME!

Mental State is a dance performance and informative experience created to give a voice to those who struggle with mental illness and educate the community on how they can stand with them.

The event will consist of dance performances from a variety of local artists that depict mental health struggles; as well as, brief info sessions on warning signs, symptoms, and treatment options for those struggles.

The goal of this event is for the audience to walk away with a better understanding and sense of empathy for what those with mental health issues experience. It’s crucial that we continue to increase education and awareness so that earlier intervention can take place, strangers and loved ones can be helpful and not hurtful, and we can keep anyone from feeling alone or helpless.

Join us for a night of mental health awareness, dance, and education! And as always, remember to protect, understand, and be patient with your mental state.
