December 7th – Redferrin at 8pm
Born Blake Redferrin, the White House, Tennessee native spent his first 24 years on the pegs of a dirt bike, now harnessing that thrill-seeking spirit and relentless drive for a new kind of sound. He already boasts several successful cuts, including Florida Georgia Line’s hip-hop inspired “Countryside,” Nelly’s recent smash “Lil Bit,” and Dean Brody and The Reklaws’ “I Can’t Help Myself,” which showcased a knack for party starting, hitting No. 1 in Canada and setting a record for the most one-week radio spins in the nation’s history. Redferrin is set to release more new music this year as he continues chasing high-speed dreams with the throttle pinned and no kill switch.

Hailing from Oklahoma, Sarah Nicole’s music is as diverse as her roots. Blending the strongest elements of Soul, Gospel, and R&B, she has come up with a style distinctly her own. She is an outstanding effort that should shoot her amongst the top of everyone’s list of emerging artists to watch. She sings about scenarios that’ll hit home with passion, sass, and authenticity while displaying a voice that’s diva strong and compelling.

Join us for music in the gallery! Free, donations for Terra Studios and tips for the musicians are encouraged.
Zane lived 45 years in Washington State, where playing music on a $2 bamboo flute in 1982 evolved to include a variety of instruments, including assorted Native American Flutes, Mountain Dulcimers, harmonica, and any Hand Drums he can get his hands on, including the remarkable Cajons, or Wood Drums.
Zane has played for special occasions, both happy and tearful, as well as community events, festivals, local schools, the Native Lummi Tribe (of the NW Salish People) and often as a featured guest of a popular local group, The JP Falcon Grady Band, from Blaine WA.

His piano playing has been described as “percussive” and “incredibly fluid.” His vocals noted as “suave.” Loston Harris is an improvisational musician doing his part to continue a musical legacy, blending traditional jazz, gospel and blues with his own unique stylings. With early inspiration from artists like Stevie Wonder, Carole King and other pop and R&B bands, Harris discovered jazz – and went on to study under Ellis Marsalis, eventually touring with Wynton Marsalis. To this day, Harris and his Trio are living the dream, playing the music closest to their hearts, and ensuring jazz remains hip, complex and limitless.

They love to sing, laugh and bust a move, and have toured both nationally and internationally to places like Barcelona, San Francisco and Fort Lauderdale. They performed at The White House in 2016; in 2021, they won their ICCA quarterfinal and took home three additional awards. But as one alumna put it best: The Undertones take their music seriously, and themselves not seriously at all.
This event will be in Parker Hall. Look for signs off the main entrance to Mount Sequoyah.
Tickets are $10. Hot cider and cookies provided.

This is going to be mostly a reggae show. We’ve got talented groups Rochelle Bradshaw & Hypnotion, The Irie Lions, and DJ HOD-I. Reggae music is MESSAGE music–conveying messages of unity, self-sufficiency and empowerment.
In response to the Maui communities affected by the wildfires, local artists Evan Diego Alvarado & Meredith Mashburn felt compelled to take action.
Why Maui?
The Maui area is tied to a documentary project that Evan and Meredith are working on together, about a convergent science project (indigenous knowledge modern science). The documentary is about the work Dr.Daniel Wildcat is leading at the Rising Voices Changing Coasts (RVCC) Hub at Haskell Indian Nations University (Lawrence, KS).

It’s important to give the Indigenous Hawaiians in Maui a chance to decide their own destiny. Indigenous communities there are growing weary of developers trying to buy their burned homes and land at a discount, while they simply want to rebuild their homes and find a way to honor their precious ancient cultural sites. This effort aims to support recovery through data collection that can help predict and prevent future fires, and sponsor data sensors to help monitor their health as they rebuild.
About The Olohana Foundation:
The Olohana Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Hawaii. They work with communities to co-build resilience and adaptation strategies to climate change through projects that intersect food, energy, water, and knowledge systems. These projects include the planting of food forests and the Breadfruit/Ulu Initiative, the creation of a youth resilience council as part of the Pacific Risk Management Ohana, conservation of Hawaii National Park Service trails, and other programs and projects that support community relationship and knowledge sharing.
Olohana’s mission is to work with communities to co-develop strategies for resilience and adaptation to climate change. Their projects and programs intersect food, energy, water, and knowledge systems and facilitate and support strengthened relationships between the generations, between cultures, and with the natural environment.
Olohana and its network of partners and collaborators focus on community-led projects at the nexus of food, energy, water, and knowledge systems and support a variety of programmatic training and learning opportunities for members of the community, teaching both cutting-edge scientific and indigenous/traditional environmental stewardship systems through the methodology of Inter-generational Transfer of Knowledge ITK™.
Their method yields tangible results while facilitating the development of strong, intergenerational, intercultural, knowledge-sharing relationships and networks across the globe; and developing and strengthening a community’s disaster preparedness, resilience and longevity in the face of climate change devastation and disaster.

ABOUT THE TONY FURTADO
“Tony Furtado, banjo player, is back…in a big way,” writes banjo master Tony Trischka in his liner notes to Decembering, the brand-new album from Tony Furtado. “He’s planted his flag in the midst of the fertile ground that is modern banjo. Texturally fresh, confidently audacious, rich and giving, this recording is a masterpiece.”
It’s been over thirty years since Tony Furtado first made his mark on Planet Banjo with the release of his debut album on Rounder Records, Swamped. He was—and still is—traditionally rooted, progressively oriented, and a composer of rare skill. Decembering is a welcome return to the banjo and a much-needed ray of sunshine and light in these troubled times.
Because of the pandemic, Decembering was recorded in
isolation, with no face-to-face contact between musicians. “I started
this in my basement (affectionately called Squirrelville Studio) just as
the pandemic began,” explains Tony. “The process was simple but really challenging. I would record my parts first, send them out to each player to put down their parts one at a time, sometimes doubling back to re-record each part to fit better as the tune grew and evolved. It was like a game of audio ping-pong.”
Recording an album with this process was quite a feat, but Decembering is well worth the extra effort thatwasrequired. ThealbumcontainseighttunesTonywroteonforthebanjoandcellobanjo, plusaBeatles cover (“Here Comes the Sun”) and a new take on a traditional fiddle tune, “Nimrod Hornpipe,” reimagined as a Brazilian folk song. Tony’s original tunes and inventive arrangements make this an album that rewards careful, repeated listening. Tony’s banjo is front and center, both the regular five-string and the lower-tuned cello banjo. He’s also a brilliant slide guitarist, though in this case, it’s here to support the banjo.
Tony is joined on Decembering by a stellar cast of musicians who rose to the challenges presented by recording an album in isolation. The roster included some folks Tony has played with over the years and some he’s admired but never worked with, including John Doyle on guitar & bouzouki (Solas), Todd Sickafoose on bass (Ani DiFranco/Anais Mitchell), Rob Burger on keyboards & accordion (Iron & Wine/Tin Hat Trio), fiddler Luke Price (Love, Dean), cellist Tristan Clarridge (Bee Eaters), mandolinists Mike Marshall & Matt Flinner, and drummers Scott Amendola, Aaron Johnston, & Carter McClean.
Feeling that we all needed some light and some hope, Tony wanted Decembering to be a heartfelt and vivid statement. There’s a real sense of joy that comes through on every cut on this recording from a veteran and truly original musician. In the words of Tony Trischka, “Considering that this album was created as the pandemic was revving up, this is one mighty silver lining.”
“A banjo album recorded during a pandemic” sounds like the punchline to a bad banjo joke, but Decembering is one of the deepest, most satisfying albums in Tony’s catalog, a soulful, tuneful meditation on the craziness and chaos of the past year and a half.

ABOUT ERNIE HILL & STORY SONGS
Story Songs is not a “hands on” workshop. It is a performance/panel discussion about creativity.
How does it work? Ernie Hill starts the set with an original story song and then opens up a discussion with the special guests.. The songwriters pass it on down the line and in the time allotted we each perform original story songs with enlightening discussion.
Aren’t all songs Story Songs? Well, no. A large percentage of top 40 mainstream songs are “feeling” songs. Songs that express love or the opposite. A story song is just that. It tells a story, sometimes taking you to a different environment. It’s that simple, but where do they come from? How does a songwriter “get” their story? That’s what these sets are all about.
