Event Details
Los Roscoes introduces genuine blues to the public with a distinctive twist, infusing personal influences and embracing the essence of the Ozarks. Rather than merely replicating notes, they channel the authentic feel of blues, an art form rooted in improvisation and personal expression. Each performance becomes a dynamic moment of musical storytelling, where Los Roscoes pour their life experiences into both original compositions and covers. The audience is invited to share in the raw emotions and sentiments of the band, ensuring that no two shows are ever alike.

ABOUT STEVE FISHER
Steve Fisher’s songs reveal a deep resonance of spirituality and soul-searching, seasoned with just a pinch of wry humor and a dash of self-deprecating awareness of the frailty of us humans as we stumble through this life without a road map. Steve just seems to see life from a slightly different angle than most of us, and it affords him clear views to universal truths that often escape us in our busy lives, because we are in just to big a hurry to notice.
Steve has roots in East Texas and Oklahoma and earned an Engineering Tech degree from Texas A&M. In the ’80s, he spent some time as the keyboard player for the Southern Cross band. In 1989, he was a New Folk winner at the Kerrville Folk Festival.
If Steve Fisher had chosen a more commercial path, we would all know his name and would be hearing his tunes in elevators, but that isn’t who Steve is.

Get ready to get into Arkansas roots all season long with Mount Sequoyah’s spring Music on the Mountain Series! This longtime vibrant collection of concerts is FREE in 2024 thanks to the support of an Arkansas Heritage Grant. Any donations will go to support Mount Sequoyah’s continued community programing. This season features a stellar lineup of talented Arkansas musicians! Mark your calendars and grab your blankets because the music starts flowing on March 9th and lasts until the sun sets on May 18th! Experience a diverse musical tapestry exploring Ozark and Americana roots. This year’s Music on the Mountain concerts will open with local emerging artists as a part of an ongoing effort to connect young performers to professional musicians for hands-on guidance.
These concerts will be outdoors at our scenic Vesper Point. Seating will be provided but feel free to bring blankets and or chairs of your own. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will move across campus, into Clapp Auditorium. This will be communicated to ticket holders via email as well as on our social pages.
Please, no outside food or drink. We will have drinks available and this year, you can add a large pizza to your ticket!
Music begins 6:00PM
Jude Brothers is a folk derived singer-songwriter from Arkansas, with a penchant for whimsy and tender heartedness. Brothers’ distinct writing style is marked by congenial contrasts: passionate & playful, calculated & relaxed, approachable & quirky.
Their lyrics communicate a simultaneous existential dread and intoxicating thrill of living and loving, a practice in raw and shameless vulnerability shared through song. All of this is transmitted through nimble vocal frolicking- a shapeshifter voice crawling, leaping, pirouetting through a mystical landscape of their own creation.
…..Let’s say you are in a forest, and you don’t know how you got there. A strong voice lilts from an autumnal quiet to a riveting loud stream to sing you the spell of their story. Is it a mockingbird? The spirit of an ash tree? A mischievous, but benevolent forest sprite?
Nay! Tis but your new friend, Jud. Or Jude. Or Judith. With harp, guitar, and sometimes tenor banjo in tow, this freaky little Ozark bard comes bearing gifts- songs from somewhere between the real and the ethereal landscapes of their life.

The Story Behind “Ozark Mountain Soul”
In 2017, Opal Agafia coined the term Ozark Mountain Soul to describe her unique style of music. Agafia embodies the sound of the Ozark Mountains: a little soul, a little roots, a little rock-and-rock, a little old-time swing- and lot of heart. Drawing from many genres, Opal blends the best elements of soul, blues, country, jazz, gospel, swing, and traditional mountain music into a sound that captures the past and boldy pushes ahead.
This year, Ozark Mountain Soul Fest will deliver a variety of genres, while placing its main focus on Americana-Roots music.

Program:
Astor Piazzolla – Fuga y Misterio
Ludwig van Beethoven – Symphony No. 9
On this program, we honor the 200th anniversary of the world premiere of perhaps THE most famous piece of orchestral music ever written: Beethoven’s towering Ninth Symphony – the first symphony ever to feature vocalists and a chorus. It was judged to be the greatest symphony ever when it was composed in 1824 – so great, in fact, that Brahms famously avoided writing his first symphony for decades, scared to death of the comparison with Beethoven’s masterpiece. The sung text is taken from the German poet Schiller’s “Ode to Joy,” a paean to what used to be referred to as the “Brotherhood of Man”, but which is now better understood as the vast interconnectedness of the entire human species. Lofty ideas and unforgettable music. The spirit of the work truly is an ‘ode to joy’ and will leave listeners feeling uplifted, connected, and awed by the ability for music to highlight the best aspects of our shared humanity.

Whether you compete, learn, watch or listen, there’s something for everyone at the 8th annual VoiceJam A Cappella Festival. The weekend includes a headliner concert by Take 6, a riveting competition with groups from all over the U.S., workshops, singing opportunities for local community members and in-school outreach.
VoiceJam proudly partners with Vocal Asia a cappella festival. The winners of this year’s VoiceJam competition will be showcased in video format during the next VocalAsia Festival in addition to receiving a produced video of their VoiceJam set.
Groups of two to 20 performers have until Wednesday, Jan. 31 to submit their video audition materials online at waltonartscenter.org/voicejam. There is no age limit for participants and no school affiliation is necessary to audition. Up to eight groups can be selected to compete, and those groups will be announced on Monday, Feb. 5.
The winner will be named VoiceJam champion and will receive a professionally produced video of their set. Judges will also award outstanding arrangement, vocal percussion, soloist and choreography. Cheer on these harmonizing, beatboxing, mind-blowing groups and cast your vote for aca-fan favorite.
A cappella fans and performers alike will gather April 12 and 13 for the VoiceJam Festival, a weekend of aca-activities. Workshops and masterclasses will feature a variety of topics at different skill levels such as a cappella arranging, vocal percussion, body percussion, rehearsal technique, solo singing and more. These workshops are for the VoiceJam competitors, but they will also be available for the public to purchase. Workshop instructions include Deke Sharon, Erin Hackel, Tony Huerta, Jia-Ching Lai and Take 6. Workshop registrations will be open soon.
Tickets to the headliner concert by multi-Platinum® a cappella sextet Take 6 and to the VoiceJam Competition are on sale now. Want to see both shows? Then purchase a combo ticket for just $29. This competition has become one of the most loved events of our season.

Smokey & The Mirror is husband wife duo Bryan and Bernice Hembree. Based out of Fayetteville, Arkansas, the Smokey & The Mirror have toured nationally/internationally over the past decade, including a touring collaboration and album with Denmark’s The Sentimentals. The band has also supported tours/concerts for The Wood Brothers, I’m With Her, Elephant Revival, John Fullbright, and more. They play most often as a duo, but also regularly collaborate with luthier/musician Bayard Blain (3 Penny Acre/Bayard Guitars), and drummer/songwriter Ryan Pickop (Nature & Madness). Whatever the configuration, the interplay of their two unique voices coupled with their provoking and engaging songs form the foundation of Smokey & The Mirror.
The Hembrees also work tirelessly on many musical and creative pursuits. They are committed to others’ music as much as their own. They have found that the most satisfying path to longevity in music is to put others’ art in the spotlight or to inspire others’ to find their voice. They believe that the future of music is not winning the “me first” battle, but rather building community. They are founders and co-creators of the Fayetteville Roots Festival (Arkansas) and have partnered with numerous music and community organizations over the past decade to help foster a vibrant music ecosystem in Northwest Arkansas.

Event Details
Multi-Grammy and Oscar winner Jon Batiste is one of today’s most prolific and accomplished musicians. Born and raised in New Orleans, Batiste studied and received both a BA and MFA at the world-renowned Juilliard School in New York City. From 2015 until 2022, Batiste served as the bandleader and musical director of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS. In 2018, he received a Grammy nomination for Best American Roots, and in 2020, he received two Grammy nods for the albums: Chronology of a Dream: Live at the Village Vanguard and Meditations (with Cory Wong).
Batiste composed and performed music for the Disney/Pixar film Soul, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Original Score alongside fellow composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. He is the second Black composer in history, after legendary jazz musician Herbie Hancock, to win an Academy Award for composition. Soul also earned Batiste a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, a NAACP Image Award, and a Critic’s Choice Award.
Batiste’s album WE ARE was released in March 2021 to overwhelming critical acclaim. Subsequently, he was nominated for eleven Grammys across seven different categories, a first in Grammy history. He went on to win five of those Grammys, including Album of the Year.
Batiste’s latest studio album, World Music Radio—featuring collaborators including Jon Bellion, Lana Del Rey, Lil, Wayne, and more — draws inspiration from his mission to create community with the power of music. The album received widespread critical acclaim for its universal message and genre-defying sound, hailed by NPR as “a sprawling exploration of what global music can sound like,” and by the Associated Press as “a mesmerizing way to dial into Batiste’s eclectic and wide musicality.”
Along with his longtime partner, Emmy award-winning journalist and New York Times’ bestselling author Suleika Jaouad, Batiste is the subject of the upcoming documentary portrait American Symphony, which premiered at the 2023 Telluride Film Festival. The documentary follows the two artists through one of the most intense years of their lives: Batiste is amidst the creation of a symphonic masterwork that will be performed at Carnegie Hall and is nominated for an unprecedented eleven Grammys the same week Jaouad discovers the leukemia she battled a decade earlier has returned.

Irish singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Hozier rose to global attention in 2013 when his moody and soulful rock single “Take Me to Church” became a viral success. The song catapulted him into a major-label contract for his eponymous debut, platinum certifications in 11 countries, and a Grammy nomination for Song of the Year in 2015. After several years of touring and promotion, he returned with the 2018 EP Nina Cried Power and his second full-length, Wasteland, Baby!, which hit number one in the U.S. and Ireland upon its release in 2019. Hozier’s first original track of the next decade was the poignant 2022 protest song “Swan Upon Leda,” which appeared on 2023 LP Unreal Unearth. – AllMusic.com

Event Details
Rolling Stone hailed his musical perspective as “Drinks-in-the-air Nineties Country at an Alabama vs. Auburn tailgate,” and that is just the type of energy fans have come to expect from Riley Green. Raised on the sounds of traditional Country, Bluegrass and Southern Gospel music, the Jacksonville, AL native learned the spirit of songwriting and performing at a young age while spending time with his grandfather, Buford Green, who ran the Golden Saw Music Hall. That stage laid a foundation for the songs Riley would craft in the years to come and values learned from another generation.
He fittingly shares co-writing credits alongside his two grandfathers posthumously on the 2xPLATINUM certified “I Wish Grandpas Never Died,” which People praised “might take him to a whole new stratosphere.” Evident on his debut album Different ‘Round Here (BMLG Records), featuring the PLATINUM-certified hit No. 1 “There Was This Girl,” MusicRow noted his “great Country vocal, honest presentation and true-to-life lyrics.” Riley’s Behind the Bar collection with GOLD-certified “If It Wasn’t For Trucks” and We Out Here: Live followedas winning the 2020 ACM Awards New Male Artist of the Year Award has “brought Country back to its roots: the blue collar sounds for the working man, by the working man” (Whiskey Riff). His collaboration with Thomas Rhett on “Half Of Me” earned Riley his second No. 1 at Country radio as his latest single “Different ‘Round Here (Ft. Luke Combs),” which is currently climbing through the Top 30 on Country radio. Steadily delivering tracks directly to his eager and loyal following, his sophomore album, Ain’t My Last Rodeo is slated to be released October 13.
Named a CMT “Listen Up Artist,” Riley was also voted as one of the CRS 2020 New Faces and earned Music Row’s Breakout Artist of the Year. Having just served as direct support for Morgan Wallen and completing the Luke Combs World Tour with Lainey Wilson across North America, Riley is currently hitting the road as a headliner. He has previously hit the road with Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley, Jon Pardi and Dierks Bentley.

Called one of the most brilliant contemporary jazz artists on the scene today, the inspiring singer-songwriter and trombonist Aubrey Logan uses music to touch the deepest parts of the human experience. Working with some incredible names, including Quincy Jones, Burt Bacharach, Josh Groban, Smokey Robinson and Pharrell Williams, Logan’s work is accessible, fresh and dynamic. Moving between jazz, funk, love songs, Calypso-infused rhythms and traditionally inspired fusions, her vocals and trombone playing sway between the tender caress of a long-lost love and triumphant powerhouse performances that will blow your mind.

Singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Parker McCollum released his major label debut album, Gold Chain Cowboy, with MCA. The album follows his Hollywood Gold EP which was met with widespread critical acclaim and became the top-selling debut Country EP of 2020. McCollum earned his first-ever No. 1 hit with his double-platinum certified premiere single, “Pretty Heart,” and his follow-up gold certified single, “To Be Loved By You,” also hit No. 1 on the charts. “To Be Loved By You” was also the only debut single to ship to radio and peak at No.1 in 2020. In November of 2021, McCollum made his first late-night TV appearance performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
McCollum has been named an ‘Artist to Watch’ by Rolling Stone, Billboard, SiriusXM, CMT, RIAA, and more with American Songwriter noting, “The Texas native teeters on the edge of next-level superstardom.” MusicRow listed McCollum as their 2021 Breakout Artist of the Year and Apple also included him as one of their all-genre “Up Next Artists” Class of 2021. A dedicated road warrior, McCollum made his debut at the famed Grand Ole Opry in 2021 and he already sells out venues across the country (over 40 sold out shows nationwide in 2021) including record-breaking crowds in Dallas (20,000), The Woodlands (16,500), Austin (7500 ), Lubbock (7700 ), Jackson, MS (5000 ), Kearney, NE (3000 ), Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, and three nights at Fort Worth’s iconic Billy Bob’s Texas. In March of this year McCollum made his debut at RODEOHOUSTON to a sold-out crowd with over 73,000 tickets sold. He also made a dream come true by performing at Austin City Limits for the first time and will be kicking-off their 2023 season. McCollum earned his first ACM award for New Male Artist of the Year in March 2022 in Las Vegas. McCollum also won his first CMT “Breakthrough Video of the Year” award, a fully fan-voted honor, in April 2022. Parker is currently up for his first-ever CMA Award as a nominee in the “New Artist of the Year” category.

Event Details
For 40 years, this Canadian musical legend has been capturing in song the essence of human experience – while fiercely striving to make it better. One of Canada’s finest artists, Bruce Cockburn has enjoyed an illustrious career shaped by politics, spirituality, and musical diversity. His remarkable journey has seen him embrace folk, jazz, rock, and worldbeat styles while travelling to such far-flung places as Guatemala, Mali, Mozambique, and Nepal, and writing memorable songs about his ever-expanding world of wonders. “My job,” he explains, “is to try and trap the spirit of things in the scratches of pen on paper and the pulling of notes out of metal.”
That scratching and pulling has earned Cockburn high praise as an exceptional songwriter and a revered guitarist. His songs of romance, protest, and spiritual discovery are among the best to have emerged from Canada over the last 40 years. His guitar playing, both acoustic and electric, has placed him in the company of the world’s top instrumentalists. And he remains deeply respected for his activism on issues from native rights and land mines to the environment and Third World debt, working for organizations such as Oxfam, Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, and Friends of the Ear
Throughout his career, Cockburn has deftly captured the joy, pain, fear, and faith of human experience in song. Whether singing about retreating to the country or going up against chaos, tackling imperialist lies or embracing ecclesiastical truths, he has always expressed a tough yet hopeful stance: to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight. “We can’t settle for things as they are,” he once warned. “If you don’t tackle the problems, they’re going to get worse.”
For his many achievements, the Ottawa-born artist has been honored with 13 Juno Awards, an induction into both the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, as well as the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award, and has been made an Officer of the Order of Canada. But he never rests on his laurels. “I’d rather think about what I’m going to do next,” says Cockburn. “My models for graceful aging are guys like John Lee Hooker and Mississippi John Hurt, who never stop working till they drop, as I fully expect to be doing, and just getting better as musicians and as human beings.”
His commitment to growth has made Bruce Cockburn both an exemplary citizen and a legendary artist whose prized songbook will be celebrated for many years to come.

Event Details
With the rich, bluesy vocals of Darius Rucker and gleeful harmonies of guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber and drummer Jim “Soni” Sonefeld, Hootie & the Blowfish have sold over 25 million records worldwide to date after their infectious melodies hit the airwaves in 1994. The quartet met at the University of South Carolina where endless gigs at frat houses and local bars built a major local buzz. Their blend of pop, folk, blues, soul and rock made them hard to pigeonhole, but easily accessible to anyone who loved good music.
Atlantic Records, impressed by their regional draw, signed them and released Cracked Rear View in 1994. The album had been out for six months before the band played on the Late Show with David Letterman which sent sales skyrocketing, eventually landing at No. 1 on the Billboard chart the following spring. Cracked Rear View and the band went on to win two Grammy Awards®, an MTV Video Music Award, a Billboard Music Award and multiple People’s Choice Awards. Cracked Rear View also earned the band Billboard‘s Band of the Year Award in 1996 and the RIAA’s Diamond® Award for sales in excess of 10 million units. At 21x Platinum®, Cracked Rear View remains among the Top 10 best-selling studio albums in music history.
The band remained a top draw nationwide following their debut and released five more albums for Atlantic: Fairweather Johnson, Musical Chairs, Scattered, Smothered & Covered, Hootie & the Blowfish and The Best of Hootie & the Blowfish, as well as Looking For Lucky on their own Sneaky Long Records and LIVE in Charleston, The Homegrown Concert Event DVD and CD. The band took a break from full-time touring in 2007, reuniting annually for a variety of philanthropic events while also pursuing solo projects. 2019 marked the band’s first full-time touring year in over a decade as they embarked on the sold-out Group Therapy Tour in support of Imperfect Circle, released in late 2019 under a new record deal with Universal Music Group’s Capitol Nashville, and 2024 will see them return to the road once again for the upcoming Summer Camp with Trucks Tour.

Event Details
Irish singer/songwriter Niall Horan was one-fifth of One Direction, one of the most commercially successful boy bands of all time. As one of the group’s more prolific songwriters, he could also play guitar, which helped him kick off a solo career after the group went on hiatus in 2016. His official solo debut, Flicker, was released in 2017 and topped the charts in the U.S. and his native Ireland. 2020’s sophomore set, the breakup-focused Heartbreak Weather, added another hit (the rollicking “Nice to Meet Ya”) to his roster. In 2023, Horan released his third LP, The Show.
