An unraveled furry fable with words and text removed. Where the underlying imagery of “three-legged dog and a chick” begins to tell its own artistic story. And by stepping into this interactive analogy, you too can then express your creative deft-abilities.

Proceeds benefit Best Friends Animal Shelter of NWA

This “Once Upon a Time” begins with the clicky-clack of a keyboard and mouse, ‘er make that dog. A mostly true story with only a little bit of imagination and tall-tails thrown in for good measure. An art exhibition that takes you on a journey by leaping from the pages of an artful analogy adventure of a few, furry and feathered, soon-to-be-friends.

From imagination to reality, three-legged dog and a chick is a children’s book that materializes before your eyes through it’s artistic illustrations and storytelling. The colorful components of the pages and pictorials are dissected piece by piece. From the hand-drawn doodles and oil paintings to beautiful photography of the Ozark countryside, there is so much reality to see beyond the fabled pages. Including, hand-carved, and burnished graphic relief prints reflecting yet another artistic version of the lovable animal characters.

Then, leaping from the 2-D paper pages, storytelling takes on another art form by way of a 3-D world. One where Cole the Deaf Dog has a playful pup version. And a 10-year cancer survivor shares a tidbit of her childhood experiences through an inspirational reading for the kiddos.

Or perhaps you want to dabble in the doodle. The interactive area allows anyone who is a kid-at-heart to express their creativity through art by painting and drawing activities. Or immerse yourself in the story kinesthetically through tactile and visual experiences.

From simple pencil and graphite words, by way of this published fable, to digitized pixels and storytelling, three-legged dog and chick art exhibition of A Fairy-tail Deconstructed is a must-see and listen-to tweet experience.

Because this artful analogy plays upon the fairytale fable not only with its amusing and playful images but also by the meaningful symbolism buried beneath its illustrated pages.
