Alina-Short Film Auditions

CALLING ACTORS IN NWA AREA: this is an audition for a short film generated by a grant associated with the University of Arkansas! Local actors, MFA actors, and other performers are invited to audition. Below will be a list of materials to prepare and a synopsis of the film. We’re looking for 1 adult male, 1 adult female, 1 male child and 1 female child, as well as 5 other non-gender specific people!

MATERIALS: bring a short monologue, 30-60 seconds, either stage or film. A performance resume is encouraged, but not required. Be prepared to do a cold read of the script asides.

SELF-TAPE AUDITIONS: we will be accepting self-tape auditions as well! Please feel free to send demo-reels, 30-60 second stage or film monologue, and a cold read of the audition script that can be accessed via inquiry through this email: johnbennetthoward@gmail.com NOTE: If sending in self-tape audition, please be sure to do so by March 28th for consideration in casting! 

SYNOPSIS: A morally scrupulous tech CEO creates an A.I., Alina, capable of creating full-fledged portraits of people…but at what cost? This social horror short film explores the intersections of technology, ethics, sentience, unfettered capitalism, and what people think they have to lose. This is a short social horror film.

This is a PAID OPPORTUNITY, with a going day rate that will be established based off grant funds and production budget, but all actors and crew will be paid!
