Event Details

Presented in collaboration with Crystal Bridges\, join us for an evening celebrating Pride with live music from Dazz & Brie and The True Lions as part of the North Forest Concert Series. This outdoor concert merges national and local musicians surrounded by art and nature. Bring your own lawn chair or a blanket to enjoy live music and dancing under the forest trees. A food truck and cash bar will be available throughout the night\, as well as art-making activities.

ABOUT DAZZ & BRIE

This woman-fronted duo and band from Little Rock combine heavy rock instrumentation with soulful harmonies to create music that transcends all ages. Their sophomore project\, Can’t Chase Girls and Your Money Too\, combines a blend of acid rock\, funk\, and country. The band has performed all over the US from Afropunk’s Battle of the Bands in Brooklyn to Los Angeles.

ABOUT THE TRUE LIONS

Kansas City-based all-femme musicians\, The True Lions combine strong yet delicate harmonies with clever metaphors. They recall 90s classic lo-fi indie poppin ways that mimic the likes of American “Twee” groups such as Tiger Trap\, Go Sailor\, and The Softies. Lead songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Alison Hawkins (guitar\, keys\, vocals) was initially joined by Mikala Petillo “Miki P” (bass\, drums\, vocals) for their self-released debut EP in February 2019\, Cute at Best\, with the help of tracking engineer Ross Brown (Fullbloods\, Shy Boys). Their songs became locally known for playfully confronting fierce subject matter\, calling out sexism in the music scene.
