Join us on Sunday\, July 11\, 2021 at 7:00pm Central for a reading by featured poet Raymond Antrobus. The reading will be preceded by a round of introductory readings by the writers of our The Open Mouth Residency at Mt. Sequoyah for the February 2021-July 2021 cycle: Brandy Ponce\, Gabriela Treviño\, Lauren Tess\, Dexta Jean Rodriguez\, and Autumn Tolbert. 

The reading will take place virtually via Zoom with Communication Access Real-time Translation (CART) and an ASL interpreter will be present. Access copies of all poems will be provided via Google Docs.

Raymond Antrobus is a British Jamaican poet and educator. His work includes the pamphlets ‘Shapes & Disfigurements’ (Burning Eye\, 2012)\, To Sweeten Bitter (Out-Spoken Press\, 2017)\, The Perseverance (Penned In The Margins / Tin House\, 2018) and All the Names Given (Picador / Tin House\, 2021). In 2020\, Raymond was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and in 2019 he became the first ever poet to be awarded the Rathbone Folio Prize for best work of literature in any genre. Other awards include the Ted Hughes award\, PBS Winter Choice\, Sunday Times Young Writer Of The Year 2019\, Somerset Maugham Award and The Guardian Poetry Book Of The Year 2018. He is based between London\, UK and New Orleans\, US
