SoNA Beyond and Van Cliburn presents: The Dirty South

Co-presented through SoNA Beyond and the Van Cliburn Concert Series, the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas and Crystal Bridges collaborate to bring together the visionary voices of Rod Vester, guest musical curator, and featured composer/performer Trevor New to create a musical program inspired by The Dirty South temporary exhibition currently on display at the museum through July 25. Conducted by SoNA Music Director Paul Haas, the program will include a mixture of chamber orchestra and chamber music.

This performance will mark the first and exclusive opportunity for Arkansas audiences to hear the technologically artful piece, Cohere I by Trevor New, for live chamber orchestra and eight virtually remote players, which will be part of SoNA’s first-ever album, to be released in the coming year. Through this groundbreaking piece, Trevor New uses technology to manipulate latency for remote musicians as he simultaneously performs on the viola live.
