Welcome to Money Moves for Artists & Creatives: Part One! This program includes two sessions, and you are welcome to join one or both. In the first session, we will introduce the fundamentals of personal finance and guide participants through reflective exercises to explore their past relationships and attitudes toward money. From there, we will assist participants in setting realistic financial goals and conduct a deep dive into the budgeting process, considering the unique challenges faced by artists and creatives. This is a hands-on class with plenty of time for sharing and collective problem-solving, so active participation is encouraged!
These sessions are designed and led by Payton Parker:
Payton Parker founded Black Bear Holdings in 2014 to purchase and rehabilitate old buildings in Downtown Springdale. He earned his real estate broker’s license and established Black Bear Real Estate & Development in 2020. Payton holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. His professional experience spans real estate, banking, and grant management. He served eight years on the Springdale Planning Commission and currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Medium. Payton lives in Downtown Springdale with his wife and son and enjoys spending his free time at Beaver Lake.
