The InnerSpace program randomly selected creative and community-focused events through a lottery system

This pilot initiative was made possible with the support of the Committee for Belonging & Bridging, a collaborative initiative led by EngageNWA at the Northwest Arkansas Council.  InnerSpace offers free space and support to artists, innovators, and community groups in Northwest Arkansas to bring their ideas to life at The Medium.

Six projects were randomly selected from 65 applications to participate in InnerSpace through a lottery process. “We are beyond excited to launch the InnerSpace program and test this new lottery system, which places everyone on a level playing field,” said Amber Perrodin, Artist & Community Manager at The Medium. “The overwhelming response—65 applications for just six spots—underscores our region's urgent need for creative spaces. By removing barriers like the need to pitch or write the 'perfect' proposal, we’re putting our values into action—creating an inclusive, welcoming space for bold, creative expression. This approach reflects our commitment to equity and aligns with national trends in progressive arts funding, ensuring that everyone in our community has the chance to bring their ideas to life.”

All events will be hosted at The Medium between January and June 2025.  The recipients are:
