About

The Museum of Eureka Springs Art opened officially in 2024, located at 44 Kings Highway within the Eureka Springs Community Center complex. The museum transforms what was once part of a community facility into a 3,500–4,000 square-foot gallery dedicated to local and regional art.

The collection features over 400 works by around 150 artists, covering a span of roughly 135–144 years of artistic production. This includes historic pieces dating back to the 19th and early 20th centuries as well as contemporary works created by local artists living and working in Eureka Springs today.

The museum’s founding reflects a long-standing community desire to preserve Eureka Springs’ creative heritage. Local residents and artists — many of whom live in a town with a high concentration of practicing artists — collaborated to convert and renovate the space. Volunteers, donors, and community support made the transformation possible, creating gallery walls, lighting, and display cases to exhibit paintings, photographs, sculpture, weaving, jewelry, and other media.

Currently, museum exhibitions rotate regularly. In addition to its permanent collection, the museum offers a mini-gallery where contemporary local art is displayed and available for purchase. The institution also provides a gift area for visitors and works with local artists and donors to accept contributions of art, often via a deed of gift.

Admission to the museum is free, and the museum is run largely by volunteers. Its goal is to make local art accessible to residents and visitors alike, preserving the visual history of Eureka Springs while continually supporting living artists and the ongoing evolution of the town’s creative community.
