ABOUT:
On the eve of her performance at a community festival, Indigo Blume falls asleep, nervous and unsure of herself. She wakes up in a dream world with the characters of her favorite book, Acoustic Rooster and his Barnyard Band. Dairy Parton and Chickee Minaj are rehearsing, and they invite Indigo to join the group! When a storm destroys their barn, can Indigo help the band save their home? And will she find her voice in time for the festival? Two beloved children’s books by Kwame Alexander come to life on stage!

Event Details
DanceChance NWA is a dance showcase that actively provides a platform for local choreographers to create new work. Featuring a cohort of twelve choreographers presented across four works-in-progress showings at CACHE Studios, DanceChance NWA will culminate in a final showcase of all the dance works at the Momentary in May 2023. The goal is to give emerging and established choreographers an opportunity to 1) Share new work with the community, 2) Engage in audience and mentor feedback sessions utilizing the Liz Lerman Critical Response Process, and 3) Incorporate those responses back into the rehearsal process in order to further develop the work for a final showing. DanceChance NWA also aims to give dance audiences access to dance performance with a low barrier for entry that allows for questioning and dialogue to help build fluency around the art of dance making.

WHERE DANCE & ART COLLIDE
Flyover Dance Collective presents “Art Off the Walls: Dance in the Museum,” a year-long series that employs site-specific choreography to create meaningful dialogue with artwork in museum spaces in Northwest Arkansas. Flyover Dance Collective offers an embodied response to Baez’s artwork by exploring water as a symbol of interconnection, rite of passage, and cultural collision. The dance performance is an immersive experience within the exhibition space that includes six dancers from Flyover Dance Collective, a local community ensemble, and a live opera singer. Ultimately, “Art Off the Walls” performances provide increased exposure to contemporary dance outside of the traditional proscenium stage.
Reserve your free ticket today!
This project is generously funded by Mid-America Arts Alliance, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the state arts agencies of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas. Flyover Dance Collective is part of NWA Movement Hub, a fiscally sponsored organization of CACHE.

Kick off spring break and a week of creative fun with a community fiesta celebrating art, stories, and the opening of our new exhibition Diego Rivera’s America! → https://crystalbridges.org/calendar/pintura-fest/
Inspired by the exhibition and presented in partnership with local artists and community organizations, we’re filling the museum with family-friendly activities, live painting, performances, food, and creative fun for all ages.
Come take in live music and performances by local artists on Walker Landing, flex your creative muscles with artmaking in the studios, or learn about works by Latinx artists with gallery talks and tours in the galleries. Grab a bite in the Arkansas sunshine from local chefs and restaurants, then hear the stories of people and community organizations doing vital work in Northwest Arkansas.
You’ll get the chance to meet local artists, teachers, and art students as they create large-scale paintings live before your eyes—works that will soon head out into nearby communities as public art displays.
See you there!
