A gathering of musicians playing Irish tunes and songs in a circle. Tunes are mostly lively and rhythmic. Tunes are played together–that is, simultaneously, as in old-time music, instead of taking instrumental solos in turn as is common in bluegrass or jazz jams. Musicians play either by ear or by notation. Irish session occurs every fourth Monday from 5:30 to 8:30. The first hour will be a slow session.
