Fund supports Tulsa artists to test, explore and create innovative work
Tulsa, OK | Apr. 10, 2024 – Applications for the second year Artists Creative Fund open April 22, 2024 at 12 p.m. Developed by George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF) last year, 20 project-specific awards of $10,000 each will be awarded to local artists annually to improve funding, visibility and professional development for Tulsa-based artists and creatives.
This fund rewards artistic accomplishments to date and supports the continued development of creative projects in dance, theater, music, spoken word, performance art, traditional and folk arts, visual art (2D and 3D), film, literary arts, and/or any multi-disciplinary combination of the above. Each awardee will present one public-facing event in Tulsa during the grant period. Awardees will also receive cohort-based professional development opportunities throughout the grant period to support the continued development of their creative projects.
Building on the outstanding success of last year's program, we are thrilled to continue our commitment to supporting local arts through the Artists Creative Fund,” said Annie Koppel Van Hanken, Chief Program Officer for GKFF. “Through ongoing dialogue and feedback from Tulsa artists, we recognize the need for increased funding options. This initiative empowers participants to explore, collaborate, and innovate, nurturing the growth of creative endeavors within our community."
