Mission

Northwest Arkansas Audio Theater exists to promote and produce audio theater — sometimes called “radio-style” theater — in Northwest Arkansas and beyond. About

NWAAT is a nonprofit (501-c-3) organization dedicated to audio theatre.

They stage productions using a cast and crew of community actors, musicians, and technicians who perform “radio plays” — dramatic works performed live for an audience, with spoken dialogue, music, and sound effects, evoking the golden-age radio-theatre tradition.

They have been active for several years; their work and community presence are documented as early as 2016 (per CACHE directory listing) as a group presenting classic, adapted, and original audio plays for local audiences.

NWAAT offers productions at public venues such as libraries and community centers in Northwest Arkansas; recent examples include shows of “The Wizard of Oz” and other classic tales adapted into radio-style plays.

Their productions are family friendly, evocative of old radio-theater style, and designed to engage listeners’ imaginations rather than relying on elaborate staging.
