Describe you and your work

My name is Raven Cook. I am a young professional whose passion and core identity center around service to all people. I have worked in various fields and love learning and creating spaces for community. The primary driving force for my work is centered on a deep understanding that each person has a myriad of unique gifts that, when realized, can be essential to making a difference. My journey in the work of building community has led me to visual arts engagement, museum preservation and curation, team development and management, strategic thinking and curriculum planning, and marketing.

Working with artists, curators, non-profits, educators, and students has empowered me to recognize that experiential learning matters, and I seek help elevating minoritized those voices. I have been honored to speak at the Clinton School of Public Policy, be a participant in the Studio Museum of Harlem 2021 Cohort, and be the first award recipient for Excellence in the Arts from the Northwest Arkansas Black Action Collective. I have also sought to share my knowledge by creating a radio segment known as Reflections in Black on our local station KUAF91.3 and a podcast titled Beyond the Veil: Considering the Work of Black American Artists.

I would like to continue learning methods to bring communities together and ensure excellence in education, media, and art.
