The Spirit & Sounds of Resilience
SongRider celebrates the region’s thriving music and cycling cultures, bringing to the surface stories of land and people. This year especially will elevate themes of resilience and renewal — echoing the community’s ongoing efforts to rebuild after last year’s devastating Memorial Day weekend tornadoes that affected local trails, residents, businesses, and community organizations. While The House of Songs property where musicians stay and play is still undergoing some repairs from the storm, this year’s rides on clear trails are a testament to community resilience, reminding riders of the healing power of creativity, community, and nature.
Join the Ride & FreshGrass | Bentonville Performance
Community members are encouraged to follow along through social media updates for behind-the-scenes content, opportunities to join in person, and special announcements along the way. The journey will culminate at FreshGrass | Bentonville Festival on May 17 at the Momentary, where musicians will perform the songs they’ve created throughout the rides. One-day and weekend passes are available at theMomentary.org/FreshGrass.

A returning Northwest Arkansas favorite, David Sedaris has charmed audiences with his sometimes neurotic and seemingly mundane, yet profound storytelling for more than 25 years. Beloved for his personal essays, books, short stories and NPR segments, the three-time Grammy Award® nominee’s material isn’t always what you would expect.
His anecdotes are riddled with strange addictions, unbelievable job experiences and his eccentric family, but it’s his droll and conversational style that makes him one of the greatest humorists writing today.

After time at the Fayetteville Public Library, “The Hearts Project: A COVID-19 Memorial” is on the move again; this time it will be exhibited at Life Styles Blair Center in Springdale, Arkansas. Joined in concert with the individuals and adults with disabilities served by the center, the 3-piece collection will be integrated within a show highlighting artistic works made in response to prompts about life during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This exhibit adds a new dimension by incorporating new voices rarely heard: those of individuals and adults with disabilities who were shut in during the pandemic. Led by art educators at Life Styles, Joanna Reid, Joelle Storet, and Rosalind Waiwaiole the words and works awaken a variety of experiences integral to composing a comprehensive story about the pandemic. During the four-month stay at Life Styles, Moore will work with the clients and art educators to create a panel that will become part of a future frame devoted to the “shut-in” experience. Reception to open this exhibit will be Thursday, February 20 from 6pm – 8pm at the Blair Center in Springdale. Join us for an evening featuring expressive works of art as a new dimension of The Hearts Project.

Location: The Medium, Springdale AR
Tickets: $20, All ages are welcome!
Mental State is a dance performance and informative experience created to give a voice to those who struggle with mental illness and educate the community on how they can stand with them.
The event will consist of dance performances from a variety of local artists that depict mental health struggles; as well as, brief info sessions on warning signs, symptoms, and treatment options for those struggles.
The goal of this event is for the audience to walk away with a better understanding and sense of empathy for what those with mental health issues experience. It’s crucial that we continue to increase education and awareness so that earlier intervention can take place, strangers and loved ones can be helpful and not hurtful, and we can keep anyone from feeling alone or helpless.
Join us for a night of mental health awareness, dance, and education! And as always, remember to protect, understand, and be patient with your mental state.

Artist Trading Cards are one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork, the size of baseball cards, that get made and then traded with other artists. Trading cards are never sold. This workshop will be a fun introduction to working with mixed media and various ways to design and embellish your cards. The only official rules for ATCs is the size: 2.5″ x 3.5″ and that the cards are traded and never sold. At the end of the workshop, you will have the opportunity to trade any or all the cards you made.
How it all began….
In 1997, M. Vanci Stirnemann, a Swiss artist, created 1200 cards by hand as part of an exhibit. On the last day, he invited others to create their own cards and trade with him during the closing reception. The movement took off, and today, there are ATC swaps in almost every major city around the world. There are also many online swaps.
No art experience necessary. Project details will be emailed upon registration. This workshop has limited enrollment so early enrollment is recommended. (Ages 16 & up)

Modeled after Broadway’s Tony Awards®, Walton Arts Center’s Diamond Awards recognizes achievement and excellence in musical theater among local high school students. The Diamond Awards celebrate the power of the arts in education and motivate support for and interest in high school musicals.
Ten high school theater programs that produced full-length musicals are participating in the inaugural Diamond Awards. Industry professionals are in the process now of adjudicating students’ performances in their high school musicals.
The showcase will feature performances by cast members from the productions, and awards will be presented for best actor, actress, supporting performers and ensemble performance. A Sparkle Award recognizing an outstanding educator will also be presented during the ceremony.
The Diamond Awards qualify the best actress and actor winners to receive training from Broadway professionals and compete alongside nominees from 54 other regional high school musical theater awards competitions in New York City at the Broadway League Foundation’s National High School Musical Theatre Awards®, “The Jimmy Awards®” this summer. Walton Arts Center will cover the cost of the trip for the two Diamond Awards winners.
The schools and their qualifying musical productions are:

Farmington High School – The Addams Family

Join Melody for an evening of soothing sound and breath work, the 3rd Sunday of each month, 7:15-8:45pm.
As we find stillness, we will soften and release into sound using a variety of instruments including crystal and metal singing bowls. The vibration will permeate our bodies and spirits as it dissolves any lingering tension and allows us to soften more deeply into our selves and into the moment.
The sound bath will be split up into 20 minute increments with time for silence and integration in between.
Bring pillows, props, blankets and anything else you’d like to feel cozy!
