Sprungbilly offers a musical blend that traverses Bluegrass, Newgrass, Jamgrass, and Americana, seasoned with a touch of country and rockabilly, along with a collection of fresh original compositions. Rising from the remnants of two former bands, this collective was born when Ron Landis, a seasoned banjo player, invited musicians from diverse backgrounds to join him every Monday night, upholding a cherished tradition at a local venue.

Swing Classics
Join us for an unforgettable evening of Swing Classics at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art
Get ready to swing the night away as we honor the Bartizal family’s unwavering support of the APO. Step back in time to the Golden age of the Big Band, where phenomenal music and musical artists like Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, and the Andrews Sisters ruled the stage.
But wait, there’s more! Before the concert starts at 7 pm, professional swing dancers will be in the Great Hall at 6 pm to give our guests a swing dance lesson. So put on your dancing shoes and get ready to groove! The APO Big Band, directed by APO Music Director Steven Byess, will perform an exciting array of classic Big Band Swing hits. Steven will also share entertaining insights and anecdotes, adding to the magic of the evening.
