This exciting 3 day weekend will include pottery demonstrations and lectures by Living National Treasure of the Cherokee Nation Troy

This exciting 3 day weekend will include pottery demonstrations and lectures by Living National Treasure of the Cherokee Nation Troy Jackson, and nationally recognized Quapaw potter Betty Gaedtke (Te-mi-zhi-ka) all day on Friday and Saturday. Artist Lectures will be held Friday and Saturday evenings at 5:15pm. An exhibition and pottery sale of over 100 potters from Arkansas and surrounding states will be open Friday and Saturday from 9 am- 5 pm, and Sunday 10 am- 4pm. Also on display will be selected MasterWorks from the Ceramics Teaching Collections courtesy of the University of Arkansas, featuring Lisa Orr, Paul Donnelly, Matt Kelleher, Maren Kloppmann, and many more. Door prize drawings will be held each day, but you must be present to win! Corbettβs Hot Dogs will be on site Friday from 11 am to close.
Saturday night attendees are invited to a cookout and potters potluck social event, with live music from band βMarch to Augustβ, in conjunction with Walton Arts Centerβs Artosphere. Vendor booths will include The Clay Bank, Kansas City Clay Guild, David Johnson Pottery of Memphis TN, Osage Pottery and MONAH. The Arkansas Pottery Festival is also partnering with CobbleStone Farms for a Flower Pot and Plant Sale Fundraiser, with a wide selection of affordable handmade planters and locally grown plants. Buy a Planter, get a free Plant for a great Motherβs Day Gift!
Concurrent events will include the UARK Ceramics Student Sale and Exhibition, Walton Arts Center Illumination Series features artist Daniel Johnston, noted for being the foremost practitioner of the North Carolina pottery style. This exhibition of large scale ceramics, in the Walton Arts Center lobby, will be on view April 5- June 31.
Sunday at 11 a.m. attendees are invited for a private tour of the Museum of Native American History in Bentonville, Ar.

βBarks on the Bricks β The UltiMUTT Art Walkβ is set to transform Downtown Rogers into a vibrant celebration of pets and artistry. Scheduled for 4:30 p.m. β 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2024, This event promises an exciting array of activities and exhibits for both human and furry attendees alike.
Discover the works of talented pet portrait artists and photographers, and meet with pet boutique business owners, dog trainers, groomers, veterinary clinics, and even pop-up adoption services. With over a dozen galleries, shops, and restaurants participating, there will be plenty of opportunities to discover unique creations and support local businesses.
What sets this event apart is its focus on inclusivity, welcoming leashed dogs to join in the festivities alongside their human companions. Whether indoors or outdoors, there will be plenty of exhibits to explore, with some locations even offering dog-friendly spaces.
Live performances and a diverse range of exhibitorsβincluding a pet portrait painting class, art by regional artists and pet-centric vendorsβwill ensure that thereβs something for everyone at Barks on the Bricks. So mark your calendars and prepare for a paw-some experience in Downtown Rogers.

This month, we are celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by recognizing the contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islander American artists in our museum. We will be highlighting the work Silver Upper White River by artist Maya Lin. Drop into the galleries to enjoy activities created by Walmartβs Asian Pacific Associates Network (APAN) and University of Arkansas students! Youβll chat with museum educators as they guide you through a fun hands-on activity inspired by the artwork in the galleries, then head to the studios for an artmaking activity that you can take home.

First Thursday returns to the Historic Downtown Square in Fayetteville with a series of festivals each month from May to October.
First Thursday transforms the square into an outdoor arts and music celebration from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month. The free, family-friendly events include a diverse lineup of live music, artist demonstrations and installations, food trucks, group bike rides and an arts market featuring more than 40 independent artists who create items in a variety of media.

Themes for the season include:
June 6th β Avant Garden, a celebration of all things green and blooming, where art meets nature with innovative art, music, and fashion.
August 1st β Game On, with games of all shapes and sizes, where everyone can play.
September 5th – Dog Daze: Pretty up your pooch for the return of the dog pageant and tons more fun for you and your best friend.
October 3rd – Technicolor: The Square will shine in full spectrum with dreamy lighting and activations inspired by the cinema.
Note that there will be no First Thursday on July 4th.
First Thursday is supported by community sponsors including South by Northwest Hospitality, who sponsor the food court, Gearhead Outfitters, who sponsor waste-diversion efforts, and Lewis Automotive Group, who sponsor the Kids Zone.
First Thursday takes place within an Outdoor Refreshment Area (ORA). Alcoholic beverages from ORA restaurants and bars may be carried throughout the square and the ORA designated area.
