Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror is turning 100 years old so come celebrate Silent Movie Day with this centenarian in attendance!

Join us and experience a piece of cinematic history Thursday, September 29th, at the Witching Hour food truck in Bentonville! This film, directed by the great F.W. Murnau, has certainly stood the test of time despite being a “low-budget” feature whose modern day equivalent could be thought of as the latest MCU release. A triumph of mood and atmosphere this film would depict the first vampire to vaporize into dust via sunlight. And of course…not sparkle! See you there!

SEATING AND PRE-EVENT ENTERTAINMENT BEGIN AT 6:30 PM.

About Silent Movie Day

Cinema of the Ozarks is proud to take part in the annual celebration that is Silent Movie Day. We believe that silent film is a vital, beautiful, and often overlooked part of film history. Our goal is to advocate for its presentation and preservation.

FAST FACT: APPROXIMATELY 80% OF ALL SILENT FILMS MADE DURING THE ERA HAVE BEEN LOST FOREVER.

This day, observed worldwide, provides an opportunity for academics, aficionados, programmers, archivists and enthusiasts to gather around their shared appreciation of this unique period in visual arts and culture. It is also a time to rally around silent film initiatives for preservation and access, as well as raise awareness of the small percentage of film that remains from this period of the motion picture industry.
